I have BIG NEWS!
I have been called to adopt, and I have chosen to answer the call.
My journey to being a mom started at the age of 5 years old. It was a passion and a dream bubbling up inside of me. Growing up, my dreams were centered on a home filled with active children ranging in all ages being loved as they should and giving back love in their unique individual way. The call to adopt has been delayed due to fear, because I believed I was never fully equipped to take on this adventure alone, and I doubted if all I had was enough to give any child. However; after seeking God, He has proven to me that His grace is sufficient, He equips us for every good work, and He as my steadfast and faithful partner in this adventure will supply all of our needs according to His riches in glory. I have nothing to fear. Truthfully I am beyond excited but still a little nervous, but stepping out in faith and trusting my shepherd is my motivation to move forward.
As of January 2024, I am working towards a domestic sibling adoption from within the whole United States foster care system, and taking each step to prepare to welcome two beautiful lives into my home. As part of my adoption process, I have started a crowd-funding campaign to raise $35,000 to assist in this process. It may surprise some to know that the adoption related cost can easily total up to $70,000. In fact, that is the primary reason why so many who consider adoption decide against it. However; I truly believe this is the journey that God has for me. I know this journey will require grant writing, continued savings, and sacrifice on my part, but I know I can't do it alone. Becoming a single adoptive parent will not be possible without the love and support from my friends and family.
Adopt Together is a non-profit IRS approved 501(c)(3), and all donations are tax deductible. If funds raised are more than I need, I have the options to gift the remaining funds to another fundraising family through adopt together or save the funds for a future adoption. I hope that by inviting you into this process you will see yourselves as part of the community I hope to build around my children as they grow up. Financial assistance however is not the only need. Steadfast prayers for the parent/parents who have been separated from their children, the hearts of the little ones whose lives have been changed due to whatever circumstances they have encountered, and my home to be an extension of God's loving care and safety for them is very much needed. Thank you all for being my village of hope.
Ok so 95% of adoption paperwork completed and sent off. Will hopefully be sending off the last 2 documents by this coming Saturday. I have to say the paperwork was A bit intimidating and overwhelming but I pushed through with the help of God. So reminding myself little steps 🚶♀️ 😊
