We are adopting!

Josh and I are beyond excited to announce that we are adopting a baby!

When we decided to start our family seven years ago, we did not anticipate the long and complicated journey to come. Infertility, while affecting many families, seems to rarely be a topic of discussion. The truth is that nothing can really prepare you for all it entails. While no treatment path or experience is the same, ours included 7 IUIs, 2 laparoscopic surgeries and 3 total rounds of IVF. Each individual treatment is its own small hurdle. Though it’s the ups and downs, the feelings of hope, the expectations and the empty brokenness that you wade through after finding out you were unsuccessful that truly test your faith.

After our last unsuccessful round of IVF we did a lot of soul searching and realized that God has sent us on an entirely different path to parenthood. One that was unrealized as we planned for children, but that we know will be better than anything we could have imagined.

That path has led us to domestic infant adoption. We have chosen our agency and can't wait to be one of the many families they match with an expectant birth mother. Although we know the journey ahead is still a long one, we can feel the excitement it will bring knowing that we are one step closer to our bundle of joy!

We have learned so much about adoption and continue to learn more through each step of the process. The more we learn, the more we realize what a remarkable journey it is for all involved, but it is not without significant financial cost.
