A 4-year journey of wanting and trying to have a child has led us to adoption. About 1 month ago we received a call that we had been chosen by a mother, and before we knew it we were sitting in a hospital room at 5 am with our baby girl and her amazing birth mother. We feel incredibly blessed and honored to have been given the opportunity to welcome Nora Grace Johnson into our family and home.
As part of our adoption process, we have started a crowdfunding campaign with AdoptTogether, a non-profit 501c3, that specializes in helping families raise money for adoption fees. It may surprise you to hear that our adoption related costs total up to around $20,000. This is why we have set a goal of $15,000 to help ease the financial burden.
As a memento for Nora, we plan to create a quilt with each square embroidered with the individual's or families' name(s) of this crowdfunding campaign.
